Human
Human
In the AAA game, members of the human species come in a variety of shades, sizes, and body types, but they all look like the people around us.
History
The history of humanity is well documented. For the purposes of AAA, two events define the species’ future: the development of the means to expand beyond Earth to colonize the solar system, and the eventual achievement of interstellar travel to establish communities in other star systems.
Fraal
Fraal
Quiet and peaceful, the fraal (pronounced “frahl”) appear calm and composed in even the most chaotic situations. Averaging about 1.5 meters tall, the fraal are thin humanoids with large eyes; pale, almost luminous skin; and swept-back ears.
History
The fraal are nomadic starfarers who came to Earth more than 10,000 years ago. Their original mission was lost to time and mechanical failures across centuries of travel in slow colony ships. Isolated and truly alone, they initially hid from primitive humanity, giving rise to many of Earth’s legends and UFO sightings. Eventually, a “meeting of the minds” took place, and the fraal joined forces with humans, sharing technological gifts that paved the way for true faster-than-light travel.
Mechalus
Mechalus
The mechalus have very ordered minds, which translates into a strictly structured society and an equally organized outlook on life. They think with the precision and logic of a machine, yet remain highly emotional people who work hard to promote positive emotions.
History
Hailing from the Earthlike world of Aleer, the Aleerins’ history diverged from humanity’s with their fascination for mechanics and computers. They bioengineered their own species, producing a synthesis of flesh and circuitry that pervades the entire species—they are born with cyberbionics. After a shameful period of planetary conquest, the Aleerins underwent a unanimous cultural shift toward pacifism and logical sedateness, eventually joining the human galactic community.
Sesheyan
Sesheyan
Standing approximately 1.7 meters tall, sesheyans are bulbous-headed humanoids with eight eyes, powerful wings (6-meter span), and a fan-shaped tail. While labored on the ground, they exhibit unmatched grace in the air.
History
The sesheyans emerged from prehistory recently and are in an aboriginal stage of development. Their world, Sheya (“hunting land”), is a place of perpetual-twilight jungles. To sesheyans, everything is mystical, and their culture is tribal, led by the greatest hunters or shamans. When humans discovered them, they found stone-age superstitious hunters, though a curious few have since taken to the stars.
T'sa
T’sa
A t’sa (pronounced “t-sah”) conveys a constant impression of speed and sharp reflexes. Standing 1.4 meters tall, they are sleek, reptilian humanoids covered in interlocking scales. Their expressive eyes and childlike exuberance make them very likeable to humans.
History
The t’sa evolved from a world resembling Earth’s prehistoric era where dinosaurs remained dominant. Spurred by natural curiosity and a lack of patience, they developed a technological society and founded a star-spanning empire (the T’sa Cluster) before humans even discovered faster-than-light travel. They are motivated by discovery rather than expansionism or power.
Weren
Weren
You can’t miss a weren (pronounced “wear-enn”). Standing 2.2 meters tall and weighing 180 kilograms, they are covered in thick fur with a great mane of hair and powerful claws.
History
Hailing from the world of Kurg, the weren were discovered by humans during their version of the Renaissance—a time of learning, printing presses, and flintlocks. Despite their age of enlightenment, the weren were embroiled in a global war, keeping them sharp and battle-ready. They are a dichotomy: enlightened scholars one moment, noble savages the next.
