Professions in AAA
In AAA (Alterated Alternity Alternative), your Profession represents your character’s primary training and current role in the world. While a Background tells you where you came from, your Profession tells you what you do now.
Choosing a Profession is a key part of character creation. It provides:
- Minimum Ability Requirements: To qualify for a profession, you must meet certain physical or mental standards.
- Favored Skills: Each Profession identifies a set of skills that receive a Purchase Cost Discount (List Price - 1).
- Unique Benefits: Every Profession grants special mechanical advantages.

Combat Spec
Warriors and tactical experts who rely on physical power and combat training.
Free Agent
Field operatives, troubleshooters, and specialists who rely on agility, intuition, and independence.
Tech Op
Technical operatives skilled in the use, creation, or maintenance of high-tech equipment.
Mindwalker
(Optional) Specialists in psionic powers and mental disciplines.

Starting Funds
Every hero starts with a bankroll to purchase their initial gear. Refer to the table below based on your chosen profession. Multiply the result by 100 to determine your total starting funds in Credits ($).

Rich and Poor
- Filthy Rich (Perk): Multiply your starting funds by x10, x20, x50, or x100 depending on your Perk check.
- Dirt Poor (Flaw): Reduce your starting funds by 90%, 75%, 50%, or 25% depending on your Flaw check.
