Pista (WIL)
This specialty skill allows a hero to follow a person, creature, or land vehicle by noting the tracks (footprints, broken branches, discarded litter, etc.) left in its wake. It is used to locate and follow a trail, either a physical one or a trail of information.
Physical tracking slows movement to half the normal movement rate.
Results
- Critical Failure: Trail is completely lost and can’t be picked up again.
- Failure: Trail is lost but can be rediscovered.
- Ordinary: Follow trail for 2 time units before needing another check.
- Good: Next check is not necessary until 3 time units later.
- Amazing: Next check is not necessary until 4 time units later.
Track can also be used to obscure a hero’s trail. Success affects the opposing tracker’s situation modifier: Critical Failure: -3 bonus; Failure: -1 bonus; Ordinary: +1 penalty; Good: +2; Amazing: +3.
Terrain Types
Each rank in this skill adds a specific terrain type to the hero’s repertoire (forest, desert, mountain, arctic, jungle, swamp, ocean, urban, etc.). Checks in these terrains receive a -1 bonus; others carry a +1 penalty.
